Whistler Community Foundation has announced the success of its inaugural Glow Gala. This unforgettable evening brought together community members, donors, and partners who raised $107,717 at the event.
Announced on the evening was a generous $25,000 matching gift from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation in honour of WCF’s 25 years and shared vision for a thriving community. Funds were donated through spirited silent auction bidding, an exciting live auction, and a paddle raise, with Whistler Mayor Jack Crompton leading the fun with Emcee Michael Janyk.
Funds raised will directly support the endowed Whistler and Pemberton Community Funds.
“We are so grateful to our partners, donors, attendees, and the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation for supporting our 25th anniversary and contributing to our endowment funds. Our goal is to continue to grow the endowed funds, ensuring local charities have a stable source of funding to sustain their programs and services year after year,” said Claire Mozes, Whistler Community Foundation CEO.
Whistler Community Foundation is the only local option for creating a permanent personal legacy that supports the causes you care about. Investing in the foundation ensures that charities in our region have the resources to make lasting positive changes.
To mark the foundation’s 25th anniversary, the Board of Directors set ambitious goals to increase impact for the communities served by striving to grow the endowment to $10 million by the end of 2025 and to $25 million by 2030, creating a lasting impact for the Whistler and Pemberton charities in perpetuity. For those who missed the Glow Gala or wish to continue supporting the Whistler Community Foundation, it’s not too late to contribute. Donations can be made online to help fuel the foundation’s mission of fostering a stronger, more resilient community.
The success of the Glow Gala would not have been possible without the generous support of partners and supporters.
