Both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains will continue winter operations until April 14. However, after that, skiing and riding will only be available at Whistler Mountain, while Blackcomb Mountain will close for the season for lift maintenance and construction of the Jersey Cream project that upgrades the existing 4-pack to a high-speed 6-pack chairlift ahead of the winter 2024/25 season.
The final day for skiing and riding in the 2023/24 season is May 20, weather permitting.
Belinda Trembath, COO of Whistler Blackcomb, commented, “The energy on the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb has been fantastic over the last several weeks as we head into spring. Spring also allows us to transition into a dual-sport season, where snow sports run in parallel with mountain biking. This year is especially exciting as we open Whistler Mountain Bike Park for its banner 25th anniversary year.”
During spring, lifts will run for skiing and riding daily on Whistler Mountain. Guests can also enjoy sightseeing on Whistler Village Gondola daily until May 20 and then shift to Blackcomb Gondola from May 21 through June 14. PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola will remain closed for maintenance and reopen for summer sightseeing on June 15.
Trembath further added, “We are so grateful to our amazing guests and community for their support this season, and we know we’ll end on a high note. I also want to thank the incredible Whistler Blackcomb team for pouring their heart and soul into what they do every single day, in service of delivering a truly exceptional guest experience.”
As skiing and riding wind down, Whistler Mountain Bike Park will open on May 17 for mountain bikers. Additionally, the resort is looking forward to the return of Crankworx Whistler from July 19-28, along with several other events and celebrations throughout the summer. Whistler Mountain Bike Park is scheduled to operate through October 14, 2024.
