Whistler Olympic Park has announced an early soft opening for cross-country skiing, starting tomorrow.
Cross-country skiers will be able to access the Park for pre-season bonus weekends on November 11-13 and November 18-20, from 9 am to 4:30 pm on Fridays and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Saturdays & Sundays.
However, the terrain is limited, and the early season trail is not recommended for beginners (only suitable for those with intermediate and above cross-country skiing ability). No ski rentals will be available, so skiers will need to bring their own cross-country ski gear.
The soft opening applies to cross-country skiing only. No snowshoeing or dog-friendly trails will be available at this point, and the Rental Shop & Cafe will remain closed until official opening day, November 25.
All Ski Callaghan & Dual Area passes (including weekday-only) will be valid for the pre-season weekends. Discounted day tickets can be purchased at the gate for non-pass holders.
November 25 will mark the official opening day of the season, so all activities and services will be available then (weather dependent), including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biathlon, dog-friendly trails, lessons and rentals, as well as the full-service Day Lodge with café and retail shop.
