Get ready for the event of the summer! Art On The Lake returns on August 11 & 12, 2022. Arts Whistler has searched the Sea to Sky to bring incredible local talent right to the shores of Alta Lake.
With a floating gallery showcasing artworks from 30+ Sea to Sky artists, 12 local bands, 9 live artists, dance performances, family-friendly entertainment, and more – this community celebration is not to be missed.
Day one lineup includes The Big Love Band, bringing their energetic mix of boot-stomping country classics and feel-good floor fillers to the Whistler Adaptive Sports Dock. Whistler legends and internationally sought-after DJs Vinyl Ritchie and Foxy Moron spin their funk, house, and soul tunes all day at Alta Lake Station House. And if you need a moment to chill, lounge in the hammocks at Wayside Park and watch Paulo Lopes live paint in the late afternoon sun.
Day two will see renowned SLCC Cultural Ambassador, Redmond Q̓awām Andrews, carving on the floating Swimming Dock. Stop by and groove to Birdsong Jazz trio at the Fishing Dock before heading to Stone Circle to hear the sounds of Jonesy Macwu’s bagpipes & Thomas Struder’s accordion bouncing across the water. Little ones will love the colour-in pirate ship and bubbles down at Lakeside Park.
Both days will feature a floating art gallery showcasing over 80 artworks from 30+ Sea to Sky artists. Spend the day paddling around and discovering works by creators such as Dave Petko, Chili Thom, Vanessa Stark, Tako Sudo, and many more.
During Art On the Lake, free shuttle busses will be running from Whistler Village to Lakeside Park on behalf of the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Head to www.artswhistler.com/artonthelake to see the full lineup, performance times and location, and shuttle schedule. Art On The Lake is a FREE community event & everyone is welcome. Weather delays dates are set for August 18 & 19 and 25 & 26.
